Hi Irixians,

I am messing around with IRIS GL, can compile and execute simple graphics tests but I don't have the examples with my IRIX install:

/usr/people/4Dgifts/examples/glpg

I would actually like to get my hands on the whole 4Dgifts directory.

Would someone be willing to tell me how to install them or even better, provide them? I am guessing they are from the a much earlier IRIX version.

You should be able to find them on IRIX 4.0.5 media. At least, my 4.0.5 installation has the /usr/people/4Dgifts directory. Getting them to build correctly on newer IRIX versions might be a challenge, though.

Yes. I can also tell you that they came from the IDO-4.1.1 CD (the "dev" subsystem) rather than IRIX 4.0.5 itself.

OK, Thank you JP, I found that ISO, have installed software on my old ubuntu laptop to convert it to a tar file, have converted it. Now I am trying to get this tool to compile, which can extract software packages from the .idb files: https://gist.github.com/camthesaxman/dcc...18d7246551
which I just got to compile. Man, a lot of hoops.

I will also buy Nero and test burning IRIX .iso in case this kind of thing happens again, or perhaps I will be able to help someone else.

In the spirit of sharing, if anyone else needs the examples, just PM me and I'll send them your way. I have the IRIX4 4dgift versions from jpstewart, and the IRIX5 examples as well.
