RIP SiliconClassics
It seems that the Silicon Classics YouTube got nuked. All videos got deleted and the channel got cleaned out except for the channel banner. Twitter account is also wiped out of existence. I was looking through my SGI video playlist and noticed videos got deleted and tracing my history they came from the channel. I'm not sure what happened. If anyone has any information, that would be great.

RE: RIP SiliconClassics
I nuked my Twitter and YouTube in protest of their active suppression of free speech. I may eventually repost my content on better sites.

Seems the trend these days....

Parler and Rumble both seem to carry the free speech torch, quite a few channels moving else where out of the mainstream sites for the stated reasons.

It's a really sad situation, and it's only going to get worse!

Today we live in a world, where if you disagree with someone, you're automatically seen to be discriminating against, or offending them!!! (And heaven forbid if you offend someone!!!)

I really don't see our society surviving the next 20-years in it's current form! We're fast approaching the threshold of what's allowable and therefore change (big change) is imminent, mark my words!!!!

RE: RIP SiliconClassics
My frustrations with free speech platforms is that they quickly become bogged down with people I cannot stand. But I'm sympathetic to Silicon Classics and his reasons for bailing on YT.

There's got to be a better way than a rabid free speech of something like Gab or Minds and the likes of Big Tech. That's all.

My take is that you're free to ignore the people you cannot stand. There's probably all kids of repugnant shit on BitChute and Parler but I wouldn't know because I'm only following the people whose opinions I respect.

I definitely get that. It's a bit... well without getting into politics, lemme just say my situation has always been that I tend to attract people who want to fight with me and while I can and do ignore them, it does ruin my enjoyment of platforms. This is a problem on all social media though, not just free speech platforms. You and I both know my controversial takes tend to irritate some people.

RE: RIP SiliconClassics
I actually nuked my YouTube channel after they forced google+ accounts (in protest) for awhile when that was a thing. Sadly Vimeo has bad policies too. I think the only way around a lot of censorship and quality control of content is for one to create their own site. This also allows for control of the site itself and to debloat the code so it runs fast like a website should.

YouTube has changed a lot since 2006 anyways. It used to be an amazing platform to meet people and talk; the custom channel configurations/colours and channel “wall” bulletins were great. It’s just a husk for basic video sharing and a little bit too pro-CCP now.

A lot of people were sad when my YouTube channel’s unique content was gone but I just didn’t want to deal with a miserable company (Google), just not worth it.
