For Sale: 2xIndigo 2, O2 and misc stuff
I no longer deal with IRIX at work so it's hard to justify having so many systems lying around.  I'm looking to offload the following.  I'd rather not go through the hassle of shipping as they're heavy and a nightmare to get from point A to point B without damage.  I'm in western WI and would be more than happy to haul them to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area or a similar distance.  I haven't run these systems in at least 2 years, but did power them up, ran diags on them and let them run for a few hours - no issues.  I'd be happy to throw a fresh copy of IRIX on them too.  Buy me a beer and chat SGI with me and we can haggle on prices  Smile

Purple Indigo 2 - 195MHz R10K, 128MB RAM, IMPACT graphics.  Modded w/73GB U320 10K SCSI drive.  No optical drive, no feet.  Case is in great shape, usual minor scuffs for a system of it's age.  Sold Locally

Purple Indigo 2 - 195MHz R10K, 128MB RAM, IMPACT graphics.  4GB SCSI drive.  No optical drive, no feet.  Case is in great shape, usual minor scuffs for a system of it's age.  Has a slightly noisy fan I never got around to locating/replacing.  Sold Locally

O2 - 300MHz R5K, 256MB RAM,146GB 10K SCSI.  Case has a few scuffs, but no cracks or physical damage.  CDROM drive opens/closes like it should.  $300

VW320 700MHz PIII, CDRW, Floppy, SGI USB keyboard, spare DIMM's, Win2k Installed and working - If you buy any of the other systems I'll throw this one in for free.  Just want it gone, not worth the gas money to haul it by itself or the shipping charges. - Sold Locally

Misc Items I'll ship:
O2 Digital Video Option (AV2)  - I don't have any gear to test, but it did work when it was pulled.  Seen by OS, can see both inputs/outputs..which is as far as I can test it.  No breakout cable, just the module itself.  $100

Multilink Adapter - Includes power supply and Analog to DVI cable.  GONE

Preferred payment methods:   Cash, paypal

Any questions, don't hesitate to contact me.

I'm pretty sure that there are quite a few people around here who would be willing to pay for the shipping on a 320 if it's in good shape, as they're becoming quite rare now and they're also starting to receive attention!

There's an Italian member on the forum "@cascatino", who's been wanting one for ages!

I personally love mine and would suggest to anyone else to have one in their collection!!!! (They are true SGI's!)

I, for one, am willing to pay a 100 bucks for the 320, plus shipping to Germany, just to find out what the problem with my machine is.

I suspect a power supply failure, but it could also be the motherboard...

It was such a cool machine, with dual 1GHz PIII, and it didn't boot since 2004!

I hope you come right in getting it up and running again, mine has the same spec as yours, and it's an awesome little machine!!! Smile

Thank's, Irinikus! Let's hope for the best, my electronics skills are unfortunatley pretty limited, as I am a software guy...

And I might add that if mine ever runs again, I will gladly ship the spare one to cascatino just to make sure it gets in good hands!

I am interested in a multilink, I just happen to be a bit cash poor at the moment. I could probably finagle a trade of some sort.

Shipping the VW320 to Germany would cost a fortune.  It weighs at least 30lbs.  I didn't realize anyone was after these...I'd be open to shipping it in the US as I trust it's survival while shipping much more than the other systems.  The VW's are tanks!

Regarding the multi-link adapter, I noticed tonight a one of the internal caps is hissing.  That led me to double-check the power supply which also has some bad caps.  I'd like to get that addressed first so it's "on hold" for now.

RE: For Sale: 2xIndigo 2, O2 and misc stuff
Not to derail, but device manufacturers, Intel, and Microsoft have done everything they can do throw out old Windows software (removal started around 2013, I think). I recently wanted to load W2K Pro on an old laptop (that supports it) to use a Adaptec Slim SCSI adapter to test out a bunch of external SCSI devices on both Linux and Windows (back when it's was supported). Man what a fight, drivers gone, windows updates/service packs gone, online services gone, browsers gone. Now yeah, lots of groups have tried to save the old updates and such. So I just barely got everything humming along great, including WPA 802.11b/g! But reloading a system older than XP now...it's software archaeology. For some reason I find it easier to track down sites with DOS/Win3.11 executables than info for Windows 9x, ME, 2k! I don't understand why this hole is there and if it wasn't for archive.org I'd be missing like 2 big drivers!

I fully support someone gathering a Windows OS load (maybe even an Image) for the SGI Windows stations. Lord knows MS has done everything they can to erase the 90's and early 2000's from all MS properties. The machines are useless without them so I'd consider it a needed, if you own one of these. But yeah the PCs have a following, shame the bigger and fast models look like ordinary PCs and the first couple look unique. Hell even the Fuel looks like a better PC case (and of course it is) then the PC's do. Just odd. I know SGI for design and wow factor, so who decided the PCs didn't need a wow factor?

That's what I feared. Then I will have to fall back to my ATX power supply conversion project. But this will take time... Thank you, anyway. Make sure it gets in good hands!

Yeah, that's a shame. If it wern't for WinWorld and such sites, I wouldn't even have a compiler for my Alpha box, even though I have a license! And everybody knows that a machine without compilers is as dead as a brick.

But to be fair, the culprit in this case is not Microsoft, but Sun, who demanded all VisualStudio 6 being taken from download sites, in the Java court settlement. You can still download Visual C++ 1.52 for Win16 from MSDN, but not VC6.
