I personally like to listen to uplifting trance while working on my machines, how about you?

My taste in music swings pretty vintage itself. I enjoy a lot of classic rock from the '60s-'70s, but I'm particularly big into classic progressive rock - classic Yes, classic Genesis, Pink Floyd, ELP, Jethro Tull, Focus, and so on - plus a fair bit of classical music as well. And occasionally a dip back into medieval/Renaissance/Baroque dance music (I listened to my dad's cassette of selections from <I>Terpsichore</I> a lot as a child...)

Of course, there's also the music that I <I>play</I> on my vintage machines - love me some Amiga demoscene compositions, DOS OPL2/3 game soundtracks, etc.

Depends a lot to the mood I'm in. Could be something more sombre such as The National, Poets of the Fall, Travis, or some ska such as Random Hand, Sublime, Less than Jake. Or maybe just good old Chilli Peppers, Dire Straits or something like that. Not really into trance or anything like that, but all sorts of rock/ska suit me fine!

Most of them I play on one of my SGIs actually (the audio subsystem in the Indigo 2 is genuinely very good), or on vinyl

I would say that the majority of the music that I listen to falls into the same category as yours (I'm a Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, Beatles man myself), but when I'm in my study working on my machines, uplifting trance is almost constantly being streamed.

Admittedly, when I really want to concentrate on <I>work</I>, I find myself listening to things that don't have any lyrics to distract the wordy part of my brain - so, Jean Michel Jarre, film soundtracks, extended instrumental jam type numbers, etc.

I have a lot of synthwave/retrowave and vaporwave on my playlist: Com Truise, Windows96 and Vaporrer and so on ... sounds nice on my octane ^^
