Machines on video
Just stumbled across this video on YouTube and thought why not start a thread collecting videos (with machines!) members enjoyed to watch?

This video is mainly about the private collection of a professor in the UK and how to make it enjoyable by other people, useful for learning, science and development of new forms of computing hardware.

Highlights:
  • a Crimson (with front cover removed)
  • two Indigos
  • at least one Origin200 (with intact front skins!) Biggrin, the other case could be a GIGAchannel Expansion Cabinet
  • multiple racks of Origin2000 and also some floorstand versions
  • something that looks like a Silicon Graphics shipping crate
  • a cool reset/emergency shutdown button
  • a Sun Enterprise 10000
  • a Cray XD1
  • some machine from DEC that calculated poll results (Could be a PDP-11 - at least there's a manual with PDP-11 written on it adjacent to its parts)
Quotes:
  • "Who could throw away this equipment? It's beautiful!"
  • "Tomorrows computer wizkids are loving this hands-on access to these old machines."
  • "It's so huge! One could spend weeks and weeks, examining everything and saying uh, ah, I remember that."
Was fun to watch. Smile

You're welcome. Ok, Octane and Indy, didn't notice that. Though I did see something colored like an Indy, but considered it too small.

EDIT: Is that an Indy on the bigger floorstand machine right at the beginning of the video on the left side, where on the right side you can see - I assume - SPARCstations and maybe an Axil? But it looks so small compared to the assumed SPARCstations.

EDIT2: Aha, just spotted the many, many Indys - I counted 13 of them - at the part when the students visit the collection, they're just one level above of the Origin200.

EDIT3: Oh, there it is, the Octane, the students stood in front of it, so one couldn't see it earlier.
