Capture cards for old SGIs

RE: Capture cards for old SGIs
Also maybe try this trick that works with the O2: (Not the pin that's pushed in)

Remember that each converter that the signal has to go through will more than likely add additional noise to the signal!

When I eventually get a capture card, I want one with a pass-through, as VGA splitters degrade the signal in my experience.

RE: Capture cards for old SGIs
I tried at this for awhile with little success, here is what **didn't work** -

1. VGA --> USB-C capture device - This worked to send VGA/Loopback to a monitor and USB-C to OBS, the image on the monitor was correct but the image in OBS had the green tint to it.

2. Using the above set up, I added a SoG converter (7053 device) to the chain, this produced a similar result on the Loopback monitor, and it did remove the SoG from the output, but it introduced some new H/V sync issues going through the capture device.

Here is what I finally got working, (even with a legacy Belkin Onmiview KVM) -

1x Extron 300A RGB --> HDMI signal processor
1x Elgato HD60 X HDMI --> USB3 capture device
1x Belkin Omniview PS/2 KVM (optional), The benefit of the KVM is that is reduces all connections down to 1 VGA out, this makes it simple going into the Extron signal proc box.

Currently all VGA connections from my o2's go to the KVM, then from the KVM VGA out to the Extron VGA in, then from the Extron HDMI out to the Elgato HDMI in, then from the Elgato HDMI out to the monitor.  The capture box USB is connected to my Mac Studio running OBS and streaming to Twitch.

o2 VGA Out --> KVM VGA In --> KVM VGA Out --> Extron VGA In --> Extron HDMI Out --> Elgato HD60X In --> Elgato HD60X Out --> Monitor (Elgato HD60X USB Out --> Mac Studio USB In)

Then in OBS you can add a new source as "video capture device", select your video source (Elgato device in my case), and tada!, then config OBS for whatever platform you want to stream to.

Hope this helps, anybody can reach out and I can chat more about this or help out however I can.
