NITC - New IRIX Toolchain

NITC - New IRIX Toolchain
So what is NITC?

It's just my name for a collection of programs that help with handling development on IRIX. That's it. A community standard. And I do want to hear from you guys on this.

Some of the common tools we're working on, and are "proposed" members of NITC are:

pkgconf - BSD-licensed, zero-dependency pkg-config replacement with additional features. Adopted by both the BSDs and Fedora.

kyua/lutok - A test framework developed on netbsd. Not of huge importance yet, but a good tool to have in the arsenal.

OpenBSD libtool - This one is written in Perl. I'm going to be packaging this soon, since it's just a perl-dependent project. It's a lot faster than bash libtool, though I've only had very basic chances to test it on IRIX. Preliminary tests indicate it doesn't have a lot of issues.

Schily Tar - a zero-dependency tar implementation with compression (gz, bz, and xz support).

Any other tools you guys think of?

Just in case it's not clear, there's no license restrictions on this if they serve a specific purpose that nobody else fills. I do generally prefer BSD/MIT, but I'm realizing that until acceptable alternatives exist on IRIX, we're stuck with what we can use. That's okay. I figure an incremental replacement is necessary.

RE: NITC - New IRIX Toolchain
Libtool has been uploaded to its own repo here:

https://gitea.irixce.org/Raion/Libtool-IRIX

This technically doesn't have any IRIX specific code, so it should work on other OSes. If I can get some feedback on whether people think it's worth pursuing for this version of libtool, that'd be helpful.
