Hi def13, I’ve finally got an original AC adapter so the Wacom is powering up now. Unfortunately I’ve still had no luck in getting the wacom to run. I’ve recorded a video that shows what I’m doing to install the drivers. Would be great if any of you guys could have a look at it and possible point out what I might be doing wrong.

Oh sorry, I've just seen your post. Your video is very helpfull to understand your problem :
1- I've installed Wacom drivers as ROOT
2- You have to declare the serial port witch is use by the tablet (see screenshot), because the installation doesn't declare it automatiquely.

Note : don't forget to read *.PDF files in the "opt" folder.

Thanks guys at the end I got it to work thanks to our friend scisi who was nice and acquired a wacom on eBay as well and went through the hassle of installing multiple irix versions to get the wacom driver to work.

Thanks def13 for the screenshot. Interesting that you are adding the tablet manually though the serial devices menu. For me it worked without using it.
Interestingly we only got the wacom driver to work on irix 6..5.13. @scisi only managed to get it to work on that version.
