Octane2 V10 Resolution

RE: Octane2 V10 Resolution
I think 1920x1080_50 works on a MXE card via 13w3, not sure why the VPro can't do it. I know Flame had some custom VFO files it installs as part of the package. 1920x1080p is one of them....or is it 2@ 1920x1080?

RE: Octane2 V10 Resolution
I was finally able to get it into 1920x1080@72 @ 8bit; however the screen is stretched top to bottom a little.

I'll recompile the vfo file this weekend and see what I come up with. At the end of the day until I recompile a new vfo file I'm able to live with the stretch after almost doubling the available screen area.

Good to know. Did you try reduced blanking? That may help with the stretching.
Can you post your vfs file anyhow?

RE: Octane2 V10 Resolution
After I installed the v12 gfx into my octane and reinstalled irix 6.5.12, I was able to select 1920x1080x60 or 72 (can’t recall) without any issues. I’m powering a 27” benQ Zowie esports monitor. I have to say the display seems crisper and brighter than the windows 10 computer connected via display port. The sgi is connected using a 13w3 to vga SGI cable.

RE: Octane2 V10 Resolution
I’m in the unfortunate position, where my monitors don’t accept 72 Hz. It’s not such a big problem though, as I usually use my Tezro, and it drives the monitors @ 1920x1080_60 through the DCD.

Thanks both for the help.  It looks great in 1600x1200 with no issues, so I'll roll with it!  Now onto the Onyx2 IR3... Smile
