External SCSI CD-Rom on Indy

External SCSI CD-Rom on Indy
I'm trying to figure out if there's an issue with my IRIX install or if the issue is with it possibly being an unsupported drive. The Indy is running 5.3 and the drive is a Pioneer drive. I've tried setting a 512b block size and have the same issue. Whenever I go to mount a CD, I can't see any files and the mount times out. Drive info shows the FS on the disc but when i look for details it says unknown media. The drive itself works OK when connected to a mac. What is most likely the issue?

Are these CDs you've burned yourself, actual SGI CDs or another kind of factory pressed disc?

Indigo2 IMPACT  : R10K-195MHz, 1GB RAM, 146GB 15K, CD-ROM, AudioDAT, MaxImpact w/ TRAM.  IRIX 6.5.22

They're factory pressed Win/Mac/Linux discs. Irix sees the filesystems as iso9660/hfs just fine
