RE: A custom paint job on an Onyx2
Hi,
Very nice job but I am just curious about something else.
I see a nice valve amplifier in the background, which model is it ?

Cheers

How is the finish holding up to a thumbnail/scratch test? Did it adhere well?

That's absolutely sick! (in a good way). I love the mirror finish and the gloss white is superb. It looks like a brand new machine that could have rolled off the line yesterday. I love your inspiration from CRAY. I've been a fan of CRAY designs since I was a kid, and I think the homage is on point.

Maybe you should consider making a discrete sticker or vinyl graphic at the bottom saying "Irinikus CRAY Edition"?

The paint adhered very well and it's also hardened with a polyurethane hardener, so the finish is good.

I'm still going to get the SGI logo made up in charcoal sliver (in the correct font), the addition of "Cray Edition" or "inspired by Cray", may be a worthy addition! Smile
