I just got a sun compatible cdrom drive for my IPC, but when I try to boot from it i just get a message saying: "The selected SCSI device is not responding". What am I doing wrong? And does anyone have advice of what to try? I cannot use boot cdrom as the prom version is below 2.0

As usual, check that your drive is correctly jumpered to SCSI ID #6 and 512-byte sectors, and that your SCSI chain is terminated.
Then, with version 1 prom, the boot command is "boot sd(,6,#)" but I don't remember at the moment which partition number to use for sun4c.
