Sparcstation IPC cdrom? - darkhelmet02 - 12-15-2018

I just got a sun compatible cdrom drive for my IPC, but when I try to boot from it, the drive spins up for a few moments and stops. The drive is known to work in other machines, and I have install media, but I cannot figure out for the life of me what is going on. What am I doing wrong? And does anyone have advice of what to try? I cannot use boot cdrom as the prom version is below 2.0

As usual, check that your drive is correctly jumpered to SCSI ID #6 and 512-byte sectors, and that your SCSI chain is terminated.
Then, with version 1 prom, the boot command is "boot sd(,6,#)" but I don't remember at the moment which partition number to use for sun4c.

I'll try that command when I get home, thanks! When I would enter boot sd(,6,0), the cd spins up for a few moments, then stops, then the system sits until I press stop-a on the keyboard. But, if I change the last number like this, (0,6,2) I get the error mentioned above once again. I know I have the jumpers set properly, but I cannot figure out for the life of me why it would spit out that error
