RE: Nekoware 2025 Update: Code Slushed
We've passed Stage 1: All Dependencies are included properly and checked as to my best testing.
HaveBlue has a total of five relevant stages for release testing:
Stage 1: Check package installation
Stage 2: Check Relnotes and Patches
Ensure relnotes and patches all match basic formatting and that patches produce usable code.
Stage 3: Check distfiles.
Make sure all files are being included upon a build. This is more of a concern for the bigger stuff, not libs and such.
Stage 4: Check GTK stuff
Stage 5: Reconcile all problems, rebuild the base packages, release to public.
The reasons it's taking longer than expected are:
1. I'm working two jobs and I'm quite exhausted when I return home.
2. I had a few small tragedies. A parakeet I loved passed away, so I was not in a good emotional state for a bit.
3. I have been trying to fix my car projects.
Keep in mind even with all this testing, HaveBlue is, like its namesake, a technology demonstrator/start of a base system.
I had users ask why stuff like nano or GCC or whatever isn't included. The simple fact is, if I get all the easy packages done right off the bat, it's gonna discourage contribution.
Nekoware has potential, even potential beyond IRIX applications. I'm beginning the process of making reusable tools and workflows too.
Documentation is also a huge part of this. Each package will have detailed release notes and information relevant to its usage and preparation. That's all a quality level beyond what the community has seen in a while.

Technical problems should be sent my way.
