SGIs Linux for Visual Workstation 320/540
Dear forum readers,

Can anyone provide any information about SGIs Linux for Visual Workstations 320/540, which was shown at Linuxworld in August 1999 (see attachment) and later canceled. I think I have read that it would have been based on Red Hat 6.0. Is this correct? Does anyone know if it would have used XFree86 or a port of Xsgi? Would the IRIX Interactive Desktop (nee Indigo Magic) also have been ported?

I personally think, that Hugh and Borg running SGIs Linux would have been very interesting machines.

Thank you,

Markus
