Yeah, the jolting worries me, but I’ll have to press ahead. My hope is that SGI thought of some of this when they tested it. Yeah, not dents, but shipping. Even correctly packed, being dropped from a few feet would happen.

So I’m hopeful all heat sinks and other masses are not relying on just solder on the IC they are attached to (otherwise fastened). That’s where separation is really possibly, glued on heat sinks riding on a soldered chip that are otherwise unfastened suddenly being dropped or dislodged.

We’ll see what my luck level is, I got a great deal on two PSUs that share the same family as one mentioned in Kuba’s manual and on paper, are compatible. I also threw down the big bucks on tindie for the ATX Adapter.

So now we play the waiting game.

I’ll do a basic dusting and I’ll remove unneeded things (like HDD and RAM) on first boot up attempt, I have known working RAM from a Tezro, I’ll see about minimally putting in RAM as well, in case they have a bad stick or something.

The drive came unplugged, so I’m a little worried on why that might have been (bad SCSI Controller?), but hopefully that was the previous owner trying to test it for booting. I have several of the compatible IBM cables already (foresight years ago) just in case I got a Fuel.

So nothing but finger crossing here now, fellows. Yeah, I’ll attempt to reseat what I reasonably can before L1 on serial testing, before big-boy system power-on.
