Yo All,
I just got a Fuel from eBay for fair price, it was labelled as dead (700Mhz, unknown RAM, V10, innards intact).  It got some damage in shipping, it's unknown at this time the extent of the damage beyond the metal casing.  It possible the V10 has been damaged, it possible it's fine.  Photos and run down below:

Now, oddly enough I removed the graphics card because I wanted to see if there was any obvious damage...I found a (good ?) surprise, the previous owner has failed to place the bottom screw back to secure the graphics card heatsink to the bottom of the case!  This means the card was NOT fastened to the case when the strike happened...possibly this saved the card?  Unknown, but I hope.  

Also if you see the pics with and without the XIO metal shield, you'll notice the bent metal from the case strike missed contacting the bottom of the mainboard by like 1/8" or less..but didn't touch it!  Again...possibly lucky?

So I've managed a few fixes already.

I found some scrap aluminum metal bar to fit into the factory bend to work it without ruining the bend:
   

Here are pics after using a large C-Clamp to bend back the bottom (yes, you can still see the divit/strike point, it's better but the system still wobbles on its feet, so more will be needed.
   
   

I'll likely need to remove everything from the case and get huge C-clamps from Harbor Freight and bend the bottom and far side back and try to reestablish the fold/crease in the casing.

I'm crossing my fingers that everything that matters is okay (despite the dead PSU and other issues).  I'll be updating this thread as I do work, however I have other SGI work already ahead of me (Indy Nidec PSUs and Tezro PSUs + Tezro repair), so it may be awhile until I get back to this thread.  Comments are welcome, also if anyone has a working V10...I may be reaching out if the card did get damaged by the strike to the bottom casing. 

I'm hoping the heatsink spring looked beefy being pushed by the strike without attachment and perhaps it was all okay after being bashed...but one thing at a time...we won't know until I can fix the casing and get the PSU working, the PSU is a 460W and this system was made in 2004.
