Starting to put together a new i9 computer. An iTX i9 LGA 2066 mobo for taking with me easy.
Using the Manta case for the build. Picked for smaller size but can still get in and out easy.
I haven't picked which CPU yet. I want the 16 core but will likely get a 12 or 14 core as the price falls down fast from 16 cores to 14. In some cases in comes down $1000 over two cores difference.
Definitely m.2 ssd as the OS drive and two SSD drives for content. Hopefully get a 2070 or 2080 gpu card for rendering in Redshift.
Current box has a 1070ti which is fast enough.
I don't want to do a win10 build but it is quite hard to get most of the software I want in linux flavor if it isn't related to 3D animation and even then some plugins are win only.
I still use win7 for windows which I really like more than win10. Definitely a dual boot machine for win / linux.
