Ah! I should still have a Nokia N770 somewhere. Received as an xmas gizmo from $work way back. Interesting little device, but not very useful.
I have the 770 since 2006. I required some work to make it useful and it was painfully slow (and it never supported EDUROAM network). But I used it as my main pocket computer for 4-5 years without main issues (WWW browsing, e-mail, document writing and even for some programming). PDA functionality was available via GPE Project applications (calendar, todo,..).
The N900 is much better - many things works out of the box and it is WAY faster. There is a nice camera (at least for a phone), too. Today there are compatibility issues, of course (there is no longer Google synchronization or working Evernote client and so).
