RE: Latest purchase?
I just bought a pair of RM11's and RAM from for my Onyx2 from Jan-Jaap.

I haven't seen IR4's performance demonstrated yet, so this should be interesting!

Jan-Jaap, thanks very much for holding them for me! Smile

RE: Latest purchase?
Ended up sending my Roland RS-09 on to a good home (nice little machine, but not the vibe I'm looking for in a string machine) and putting the proceeds towards an ARP Omni 2. Got that on Friday - needs more TLC than the seller let on, but all the really tricky bits are working fine; just needs the sliders replaced and a vigorous cleaning on the switches. Loving the sound Smile

I'm in the process of buying a Sun Fire X4600 with the following specs form a local seller for $64:

4 X 2.8GHZ dual core CPU's (so 8 cores total)
4 X 8gb DDR2 ECC ram
4 X 320GB 10000RPM HDD in raid
4 X 850W PSU's, 2 act as redundant

I should have it in my possession in the next hour and thirty minutes!

Well, congrats I guess, but why? I mean, it's a big, loud and power hungry x86 server. What do you intend to do with that? I mean, I have SGIs that fall into that category (e.g. Origin 200) but at least they come in funky colors and are not x86.

I've got Solaris 10 for SPARC running on the V880z, so I just want to see how Solaris 10 x86 compares. (I suppose it's just something to mess around with on a rainy day. Smile )

RE: Latest purchase?
Well, I had a bunch of free time, not much to do with it, and a modest tax return burning a hole in my pocket, so I went ahead and pulled the trigger on a P-bass build project I'd been mulling for a while. Ordered an SX Guitars Precision Bass clone from Rondo Music, a replacement neck with rosewood fretboard, a Fender '62 reissue pickup, Kluson bridge, bone nut, prettier pickguard, chrome bridge/pickup covers, and a set of D'Addario NYXLs. Also got a clone Rickenbacker-style neck pickup hanging around from a mangled DIY kit some kid had on Craigslist a couple years back, so I might throw that in while I'm at it Smile Should be a fun little project for the next couple weeks...

Also picked up an ARP Omni 2 recently...currently in the processing of re-capping and replacing the gummed-up sliders...

An iRulu F20 from here: www.ebay.com/itm/383220863611

It's a high end for what it is, MP3 player that plays FLAC and has expandable storage. It's perfect for me.

Very nice! I watched some reviews and it looks to be a really cool, well-made unit.
