Mousepad Design Submission
Hello folks,

I'm proud to announce that the samples came back in good shape!

I did notice one sample was too close to the other size, so we're changing the lowest size.

The final sizes are:

10x8 in (255x205mm)
14x11.8 in (360x300mm)
23.6x15.7 in (600 x 400mm)

These are the final sizes. Prices will be announced at some point, but please understand three things:

1. I'm not sure how many we can sell, so that limits discounts we can get.
2. The initial and ship from HK to US costs are going to be costly, and I have little choice in that. US-based ones cannot provide the low volume we need nor additional price savings. No, drop-shipping isn't an option.
3. Shipping will be country-based, and we have to account for potential overages in cost - so I'm warning that up front.

The mouse pads are fabric, not plastic, and made of very sturdy material.

With all that, it's time to talk mousepad design submissions!

What you need to enter a design:

1. It must have some adjustable proportions and aspect ratios.
2. It must be least 2362 x 1575px or larger.
3. No use of trademarked logos -- except in system images. This currently encompasses the Cube, "SiliconGraphics" logo and the post-rackable logo, only the white/purple lowecase "sgi" is permitted. This does not apply to images/collages/etc of the OS or computers.
4. We're not doing IRIXNet branded designs, but you are free to use Igni (or have her commissioned/drawn) for your design.

I'm looking for 4-5 designs, a ranked choice poll will be setup once we have them.
Good luck!

I realize I never posted a photo of the test batch but here it is. The smallest size is going to be significantly smaller but that's primarily to allow affordability.

RE: Mousepad Design Submission
Come on guys some of you must be good enough with Photoshop to submit a design. The only reason why I have the above stipulations regarding size and such is because not all of the sizes are clearly proportional. If you all want to use a pixel calculator, use 100DPi and the millimeter sizes since that's what they're printers are patterned, and then you can produce three different versions of the same image that will fit properly. When I did the prototypes they don't seem to know how to crop images correctly so the smaller ones ended up having some important text cut off.

We need at least 4-5 good designs!

Micrex22 and me have a design to enter.

It's below, the final may be a bit different but it'll be if anything closer to the actual.

Only IR most people can ever afford Smile

RE: Mousepad Design Submission
Here's my contribution: (It's @ a resolution of 3700x2915, with the same aspect ratio as the large mousepad on my desk.)

If you do intend to use it, I'll have to find a way to get the original .png file to you, as if you right click on this image and choose to download it, it will be downloaded in a .jpeg format. (Which appears basically the same as the originals, viewed on my 4K monitor.)

Here's the uncropped image @ a resolution of 5000x2915:

Also let me know what dpi you want the image in? (The .png files currently have a dpi of 300, which is industry standard.)

This reminds me a lot of the default IBM wallpaper of the mid-90s.

RE: Mousepad Design Submission
Here's my next submission! The background color can be changed, but I felt purple was appropriate for the subject matter.

(I included the old SGI logo since I felt this was in line with appropriate use, but if it needs to go I can pull it out or swap it with the updated logo)
