Later versions of Ruby encounter more serious porting efforts (at least serious to me).
NOTE: This is compiled using MIPSpro. while that may sound great, several useful GEMS' native extensions that you may install later do not like to compile easily with MIPS Pro (which this Ruby defaults to) yet they would compile easy with GCC (seems we cant mix MIPSPro+GCC within ruby and gem native extensions). Based on this, it may be better to recompile Ruby 2.x using GCC versus MIPS Pro.
