200+ conflicts when installing 6.5.30
Rwcently got my network installation server up and running, but now that i can install things, im getting a ton of conflicts. I am using the 3 overlay discs from the ftp along with the 2 foundations, apps, and nfs disc. I selected feature stream but as far as i can tell the same thing happens with standard. Any ideas?

Did you try the development foundations and development libraries as well

I did not. Are they on the ftp and if not is there a way to rip it from a burnt disk on irix?

I have to warn you, it is a long and somewhat torturous road to do it correctly.

But if you have the right CDs, it should go Okay.

There is a good thread here,

http://forums.irix.cc/thread-92.html?hig...ete+6.5.30

having gone through it myself I can summarily say you MUST have the IRIX Development Foundation 1.2 for IRIX 6.5 and the
IRIX 6.5 Development Libraries CD updates if you want any hope at all of succeeding. (There are copies on the ftp site here, the naming is very abbreviated.)

Am I missing something? I never install the developer stuff and only ever have 2 conflics, both relate to Java? This is from .22 to .30.

no your not doing anything wrong - I believe the apps CD (sorry, I forget, its been a long time since I did a fresh install) trys to install Mozilla and the java plugins by default, but there is some sort of java conflict (by default - I think its something about java and java2 conflicting).

Same for me, clean install...

200 conflicts seems excessive.

If you load Overlay1, Foundation 1, Foundation 2, Overlay2, Overlay3, Applications, Comp. applications and then NFS you should only get two conflicts with "Keep *", "Install Standard", "Go".

Then do conflicts 1a or whater ever to not install java. "Go" again to start the install.

Once all installed you can do development packages and demos.

After selecting all of those in that order minus complementary applications and doing the keep comand it says i still have a karge amount of conflicts mostly relating to eoe. Is that provided by the capps disk?

RE: 200+ conflicts when installing 6.5.30
It could be, there are eoe packages (execution environment) packages on just about all the installation CDs.

Are you installing the August 2006 Application CD and August 2006 Complementary CD packages?

Below is my list of my install folders on my raspi server.

Code:
1 -> 6.5.30_Overlays_1
2 -> 6.5_Foundation_1
3 -> 6.5_Foundation_2
5 -> 6.5.30_Overlays_2
6 -> 6.5.30_Overlays_3
7 -> Applications_Aug_2006
8 -> Complementary_Applications_Aug_2006
9 ->ONC3-NFS_version_3

4 -> Applications_Nov_1999 ( <-- you don't need this, I just install it for the demos)

https://www.dropbox.com/s/2iqlqrd9i6ucip...t.txt?dl=0

Will link you to a directory and file list dump of my 6.5.30 media, check some random file sizes to see if you have the same.
