I believe the way the shipping bar has to be installed leaves tension against the modules in one direction or the other, so the modules aren't sitting with equal pressure on both sides of the pin connectors. Oh, well, I had no idea about that. One time I looked inside of my Octane and saw that the foam under the sheet metal bar got loose and was lying halfway around on the RAM modules. The foam adhesive became greasy. I was shocked :s but fortunately the RAM was still ok ...
