Sgi o2 - toshiba XM-5701B help
So my CD rom pressfit nylon pinion has come off. I thought no problem I got this, but after getting the CD rom out and removing the metal skin I can't seem to get down to the internals as shown in the old wiki pictures. Anyone know how to teardown Toshiba XM-5701B to where I can put the pinion back on?

I will add the lower PCB board is limited in movement by the soldered on power-leads (a red/black wire set to a motor).

Nevermind I figured it out. The Black plastic top does indeed come off and expose the tray area which once extended exposes the gear. That top piece looked solid to my old eyes but I finally found the tabs on it.

I was thinking one of these days I'll try to model that accursed thing so it can be 3d printed, for all the ppl out there who have an old Toshiba drive with the missing gear.

As physical CD become less and less common it would be cool to figure out new uses for that top tray.
