Fellow SGI enthusiasts,

I am in the process of creating a timeline for SGI hardware and I'm looking to get some inputs from the community. Listed below is what I have been able to find so far from various sources regarding systems and their release years. I'm attempting to put everything in the correct order while focusing primarily on SGI systems up until 2003 or so (before Rackable took up the rest of their holdings).

I'm interested in two things: 1) Do the years listed for each system appear correct and 2) Am I missing any particular system (I know the answer is yes--Altix for instance--I'm hoping to add other systems with a valid year)

I'm pretty sure the IRIS 3000 predates all of the MIPS systems. Professional IRIS was introduced March 1987, per Gerhard Lenerz. Who probably has all the other years as well

I was thinking that as well. Trouble is, I've been going off of less-than-reliable info I've found here and there. I'll take a look at the archive of SGI Stuff and see if I can pull better dates for some of these. Is Gerhard active anymore? If he's on here I'm unaware of his handle.
