Absolutely nothing. FMC was "diversified" at the time, agriculture, gold and silver mines, potash, all kinds of stuff. Back then, diversification was a huge deal in the corporate world, subsequently that got turned on its head and now corporations have to concentrate on their "core competencies" only, or The Street makes them suffer.

H2O2 is in fact used as a sterilant to prevent bacterial and fungal infection of seedlings and grafts, along with its derivatives HO2 and peroxyacetic acid.

Hydrogen peroxide is like the molybdenum of chemicals; every day they find a new use for it. We use the 70 percent concentration as the oxidizer in our liquid propellant electrothermal guns. Yes, I know, I'm one of those American gun nuts.  Tongue

But the question on everyone's lips is, does the printer actually still work?

RE: Restoring an Apple IIc
Thermal printers are very reliable, but the ribbons may be hard to source. Unlike typical "dot matrix" impact printers, a thermal head has no moving parts. It just passes current through some wires to heat them up.
Heat releases the binder of the ribbon, transferring the black side to the paper. They will also print, without a ribbon, on thermal sensitive paper, known as "fax paper".
With impact printers, the ribbons can be re-used by dipping them in an ink-oil mixture, but thermal ribbons can't be reused at all; the negative of every line of text that was printed is permanently etched on the ribbon. This also makes them interesting for your next spy thriller novel, since the contents of the classified dox can be fished out of the e-waste basket.
