The Restoration of a Tape Deck for a future Apple 1 Clone project
I've purchased this really cool SONY TC-110B Portable Cassette Player Recorder, for my ZX Spectrum and my Apple 1 clone when I eventually get it!

I’ve started with the tear down of the Tape Recorder, and this one’s going to have to be done in stages as I pluck up the courage to do so, as it’s a complete mess!

It does work, but will at an absolute minimum (besides a deep clean) require the belts to be replaced, as they’re stretched!

I’ll have to make use of the “indirect method” on the blue section of the case, as it’s glued to the top section! (Boy have they used allot of glue in this thing!!!)

I took some shots of the wires I needed to desolder in order to get this thing disassembled!

I’ve managed to disassemble the tape deck to the level I need to: (I’ve managed to remove all three stretched belts and I’ve also managed to liberate the buttons!)

The metal parts are glued to the buttons, so I’ve coated them with clear nail varnish to protect them from the Hydrogen Peroxide.

I’ve opted for the “Paint Technique” on the blue plastic, as I can’t use the submersion method on this part.

Here’s where I am with this:

I've ordered a 50pcs 40-130mm Square Assorted Mix of Cassette Belts to replace the streatched belts.

RE: The Restoration of a Tape Deck for a future Apple 1 Clone project
I need to read up on this myself, sometime - I've got a tape deck where the mechanics are in good working order, but the audio signal cuts out in a regular fashion for the first ~30 sec. or so of playback...
