Does anyone have Insignia SoftWindows95 or SoftWindows98 for Solaris ? The only version around is SoftWindows 2.0, and the SoftWindows95 versions i could find are for IRIX. Any version post SoftWindows 2.0 would be useful, in whatever state. ISO, installer, with or without licenses.
I'll take the chance to ask if anyone by chance have Illustrator 5.5 for Solaris, as well as Mathematica 4.x, Matlab 5.x for Solaris as well. Mathematica 5.2  requires Ultra CPUs if my memory serves me right. Mathematica 3.0 kernel panics Solaris 2.6.5/98 consistently on emulation.

Is your QEMU set to the "SS20" machine? The default SS5 will panic upon debugger (i.e. GDB or ADB) breakpoints etc.

Hello. With Solaris 2.6, I can't use neither GDB nor the Sun Workshop Debugger, DBX and so on. Neither with SS-5, SS-10 nor SS-20 configurations. The only solution was Solaris 8 (SunOS 5.8), with a SS-20 configuration and a SuparSparc II CPU. I tried the SS-5 with MicroSparc II, Fujitsu MB86904, MB86907, all kernel panic. Using GDB in Solaris 8 occasionally, but rarely fortunatley, hard locked my entire system, so there's something there in QEMU. The workshop debugger is working fine though.

I could not install Solaris 2.6 on a UltraSparc since that requires qemu-system-sparc64 and for some reason I just can't boot the install media. I know previous versions had ISOs with non-standard block sizes of 512bytes, which you can boot as regular HDDs, but that was not the case with the Solaris 2.6/SunOS-5.6 installation media.
I have no idea if that is possible at all. Searching online the only thing I could find was a prebuilt image of Solaris 10 with a UltraSparc IIIi if my memory serves me right, and installing *BSD, Linux on Sparc64 with QEMU. Nothing about Solaris 2.6.

If I remember correctly, Mathematica 3 also triggered a guest kernel panic on 2.6, and on Solaris 8 it caused a BusError, typically associated with hardware issues or CPU incompatibilities.
