more SCSI bus error warnings
My Indigo 2 is acting up again. While computer was running I hear the crashing symbol sound and the attached screan appeared. Would it be helpful to set the wd93mintimeout to 240 seconds in master.d/wd93 and reboot?

Is it time to replace my hard drive?

See the attached error messages.

Thanks for your help.

RE: more SCSI bus error warnings
240 seconds is an absurdly long time to wait for a disk to respond. If a hard disk doesn't respond to a command for 1 second it's probably toast.

You don't mention the reason for the crash dump: I would be investigating that instead. Kernel panics should not randomly occur.

RE: more SCSI bus error warnings
I collected additional files from /var/adm/crash directory related to the crash incident including tail end of syslog file, vmcore.4.comp and analysis which I have attached as images below.

This crash again seems to be related to a fatal error in root filesystem reset.

If any of you can see additional information that would be helpful to sort this out, I would greatly appreciate your help.

Thanks,
Glenn

RE: more SCSI bus error warnings
It looks like the panic was a result of continuous SCSI errors.
There shouldn't be any parity errors on the SCSI bus, either. Check the cabling in the disk sled for loose connectors or broken wires.
And check the flex cable going to the 5.25" drive bay that it is plugged in and not damaged.

I checked the cabling and all appears to be fine. System has not crashed in past 24 hours so keeping my fingers crossed that it will remain that way. I am looking for a new disk drive but will probably wait until early next year and then rebuild the system from installation CDs. Thanks for taking a look at the logs, I concur.
