I figured I would start a new thread specific to setting up the stone wired drive.
I have followed all the steps in the other flame 2008sp6 thread and cannot get flame to write the stone file system to any of my drives. I have tried on my 74 gig drive on controller 0, scsi 3, sgi option drive on controller 1, scsi 5, and my midea video raid (4 drive, 250 gig hardware raid).
When I enter sw_config, I see the drives in the bottom window. Then I do the following:
Slelect clear all
Select the drive to clear
Click add, create
Enter 0 for offset
Enter 0 for length
File system ID set to 2 as per the sw config document in /user/discreet/sw/
Static IP address is set to 192.168.001.002 for octane system
I click on partition 0 green box at top of window
Then click on the drive I want to use as stone, the drive box turns from white to green
Click save
Get the warning for filesystem will creat on partition 0
Click ok to accept data will be lost
Next warning appears about some partitions have no raid protection due to lack of parity disk
Click ok
Then it says “saving device information failed. Stone file system failed for partition 0”
I can’t get past this point.
