Octane Personal Video Option

Octane Personal Video Option
Can the Personal Video option run with Dual head i.e. MXE and SI?  I had to read Ian Mapleson's web page twice as at first I thought it said that the personal video cannot run with dual head, however it appears this is only the case with the 'Digital Video' option.

I looked at the SGI Installation guide for the personal video and I could not see anything suggesting it can run with dual head.  All it says is that it has to be installed in the top right slot so that the ribbon cable can connect the three pins on the main GFX card.

Can anyone confirm if the Personal Video will work with dual head?  Thanks

RE: Octane Personal Video Option
It should.  Years ago I bought a used setup with 2xSE and PVO all installed together.  My Octane doesn't like multiple XIO cards (frontplane problems) so I've never been able to fully use it myself, but its previous owner certainly did.

Just keep in mind that the graphics<->video connection is only to the primary graphics card, not both!  I don't think you can capture from/output to the second monitor (so use it for the user interface or whatever else non-video-related that you're running).

Great. Sounds promising. I used to have a PVO on my original octane 10years ago but with one MXI gfx Board and remember when I first got it, there were some limitations - maybe it was the VPro cards that it didn’t work with.

VPro definitely won't work with PVO.

RE: Octane Personal Video Option
I got an Octane PVO card earlier this year. I did not try to do dual output. I haven't tested the video output yet either. I found a little JVC monitor that will work with the bnc output but haven't hooked it up yet.

RE: Octane Personal Video Option
Looks like the PVO order fell through.

But the good news is I found an Octane Digital Video option board. I will post another thread related to the DIVO.
