I've chosen to not engage with people who have made it clear that they neither respect my safety nor my contributions and dedication to keeping the hobby alive. A small contingent of users there are engaged in a lot of anti-community activities. SGUG is a serious venture, but with major shortcomings when it comes to documentation and infrastructure. But I'm not going to criticize a community that I'm not part of. Better things to do with my life.
In short I have no abilities on Reddit to take action against other staff myself, as there's a hierarchy in place. I keep a reddit presence because we do not want to have assholes steer the boat over there for us. No other comments on what's going on there.
As a final word I have nothing antagonistic personally against the user group and we even give them the ability to share their software over here; but because they don't share development and the majority of their developers refused to participate for petty reasons, it results in a subpar experience for our users that are interested in trying out things. People are allowed to post links to their forum and such as long as it contains a wider context. I just won't allow straight up direct signal boosting because we're not a linkfarm. Some of the other staff members might have their own opinions on this if they want. I'm not the sole owner here and I'm not about to make decisions that they wouldn't be able to oppose or overrule.
Thank you for the question, hopefully you will come around more often.
