Old SGI Keyboard Interface

Old SGI Keyboard Interface
Old SGI machines like Onyx have SGI proprietary keyboard and mouse interface (single mini-din port for keyboard and mouse connected through the keyboard). There is was adapter available on ebay, but I cannot find any documents about this interface. Does anyone have materials about this protocol and/or converter design. Converter (I have one) is not a stupid device, there are two microcontrollers so I guess that the protocol conversion is not trivial.

Due to the problem with attachments (please see http://forums.irix.cc/thread-352-post-2880.html) can You put attachment on any server and paste link to it?

Here you are: sgi_keyboard_converter.zip

Thanks a lot. Inside there is everything needed to build converter. There is no documents how it works but it's not a big problem. Code for microcontrollers is very small (several hundrets bytes) and can be disassembled and understood without many effort. Thanks one more time.

RE: Old SGI Keyboard Interface
I Have a granite mouse that is specific to the onyx (non PS2) din. I purchased it on ebay thinking this would replace my o2 mouse, but I didnt pay attention to the part number. The mouse has the short cord and ps2 looking connector. In case you need it. However you will have to find the correct keyboard.

I could probably be persuaded to sell/trade off a beige IRIS keyboard. SGI PN 9500801
