RE: Foreign Language Discussion
Great the last place I want to work \s.

I appreciate the suggestion on a more serious note, but I would sooner put my language skills to work translating books.

RE: Foreign Language Discussion
A former flatmate of mine made her living translating books from Norwegian to Czech.
It was not a lot of money, but enough to pay the bills and she only worked a couple of hours a day, plus got access to any book from 3 publishers for free.

If you master a pair of semi-obscure languages but with some demand for literature, you could find a nice niche.
The market for anything-to-English is pretty much saturated, but there's room elsewhere.

Yeah I want to translate some of my religion's literature from Classical Chinese/Japanese to Latin. Why? It kinda fits if the Japanese and Romans had some contact, I am sure my faith would have become a mystery cult.
