Indigo: Inconsistent hinv cpu reporting

Indigo: Inconsistent hinv cpu reporting
Funny I never noticed this before.  I have an R4400 Indigo (IP20) on the bench at the moment.

When I do an hinv in the PROM monitor, it reports the CPU as an R4000 75MHz, with FPU .

When I do an hinv in IRIX, it reports it as a 150MHz 4400 w/ 4010 .

Of course, of the two the latter is clearly correct, suggesting there's either a bug in the PROM
or some other bit of subtlety that prevents it from getting it right(er).

Has anyone else ever spotted this?  Is there another monitor rev that corrects this misreporting,
or is it JOOTT (just one of those things)?

Arguing with an engineer is like wrestling with a pig.
You're going to get dirty. You're going to lose. And the pig likes it.

Just about everything from Iris 1000 to Challenge L Rack and a few beyond.

This is JOTT. The PROM hinv reports the external CPU frequency, while IRIX hinv reports the internal (doubled) frequency. On a 100MHz R4000 Indigo, PROM would report 50MHz and IRIX 100MHz.

Yeah, I figured as much. The reason for the difference in clock speed reporting is obvious.
