Audio in RX4640 - Factory integraiion only
Hi

I have the RX4640 server that doesn't have a sound card, and I wanted to try some applications that will allow me to play music. In this case, I found some websites with the HP PCI Audio Card (AD317A), but I see information: Factory Integration Only.

What does it mean?

I read here that I can use it in RX2660:

Why can't I use this card on my server?

That's HP speak for "it'll cost you something extra." The driver is probably a chunk of firmware that they install when you buy the server.

Thank you for the answer.

Do you know if HP-UX 11i v3 (B.11.31) has audio drivers on a DVD with the OS?

I checked my server, and it doesn't have any jack outputs.

What going to happen with my server if I put the audio card for RX2660?

Nothing bad will happen. At worst, HP-UX is gonna recognize the card as a PCI card showing you the vendor and device IDs and probably mapping standard BARs into memory. That's it.

If no driver claims the card it will just sit there waiting for someone to love her/him.
