The Octane also won’t boot if the irix install is trying to load VPRO graphics sub-systems when MGRAS gfx is installed, and visa versa. This can sometime happen when people swap out the gfx boardset.  There is a way to install both sets of ‘drivers’ but I recall this was on Ian’s site somewhere.

Hello I had a wierd issue today with an hdd i have bought, still since i was swapping also the cpu for a more powerful the system was not booting. I then switched to a less powerful hdd downgraded from an 15k 320gb to a 9gb 7k. Try to switch to another hdd or try to remove any additional drive or the pci cadge if aplicable
