Documenting the Doctor V64
I've wanted one of these for ages, and thanks to a kind investor, I was able to acquire one from New York.
Initially, I thought it was a prototype, but it's a normal unit. What is the Doctor V64 exactly?
It's a development alternative for the N64, as opposed to the early SGI and later Windows-based units produced by Nintendo.
Mine dates to 1997, so reasonably early. Bung Enterprises didn't survive for very long because the system could also be exploited as a 1990s everdrive-type system.
Why did I buy it? It's a cool piece of history with little documentation, the everdrives around nowadays are top loading and lack many of the neat features this does, and because they're getting scarce, so I may as well crack it open and find what's inside.
Expect photos soon, and when I build a PSU for it, I'll start it up and maybe take some pics of the operation (though, i lack any composite capture stuff at the moment, my O2 won't work as it's 240p)
