M-AUDIO Revolution 7.1 for Fuel
I just got a M-AUDIO Revolution 7.1 PCI sound card from eBay. Installed on my Fuel, but I can not control the volume, on the Audio Que Monitor, every time I play some sound, Show Error:1

Do I need to re-install Irix or I am doing something wrong?

What version of IRIX? Support for that card requires 6.5.21 or higher...

Some m-audio cards are also inherently buggy on the Fuel.

So go with a SoundBlaster?

My guess would be that the driver's not installed, or is incomplete since you do seem to be getting sound out of it. Can any Fuel owners shed any light on what drivers are required? I did a quick web search and didn't come up with anything.

RE: M-AUDIO Revolution 7.1 for Fuel
Hi Megaimg.

I have Revolution 7.1 in my Fuel:

This reports as:
>> Iris Audio Processor: version MAD revision 1, number 1
>> ...
>> PCI Adapter ID (vendor 0x1412, device 0x1724) PCI slot 2

Were PCI ID == 0x1412 -> Vendor: VIA Technologies Inc. // Device: Albatron PX865PE 7.1
Vendor: VIA Technologies Inc. // Device: VT1720/24 [Envy24PT/HT] PCI Multi-Channel Audio Controller

From: https://pcilookup.com/?ven=1412&dev=1724&action=submit

From IRIX swmgr: Digital Media Execution Environment - Installed
Sub: Audio System Compoonents - Installed
File: /usr/cpu/sysgen/IP35boot/mad_dd.o

So I am thinking that mad_dd.o is the driver for Revolution 7.1 (MAD Audio).

I have verified that the Audio Sound Control works.

Cheers from Oz.
