SGI Octane Demos trouble

RE: SGI Octane Demos trouble
I have a spare SSE if you need to test. I can ship it over. Should not be much from here to Vilnius, and no customs paperwork.

I don't have texture modules.

Then we can do the opposite. If you want to ship the texture modules over, I will test them on my card.

RE: SGI Octane Demos trouble
Hey guys,

So, I've received grom371's modules.

I'm thinking of the following test procedure:
1. Remove my card with the modules.
2. Install my spare card without the modules, boot the Octane, confirm it's all OK.
3. Remove the spare card, install the modules, test.

If everything works, I will ship my spare card with the modules back to grom371, otherwise I will just return his modules.

Besides the uber fragile connectors, is there anything else I should worry about?
Is it possible to test the modules separately or I must always have both installed?

edit: just saw jan-jaaps previous message stating that I need both modules

RE: SGI Octane Demos trouble
I did my research and found out how to do it properly.

I tested both modules separately. Both passes the tests. One shows minor noise during one diagnostic test and the second one shows a checkerboard pattern noise. The first card runs demos fine and the second one crashes any of them.

If he wants, I will ship back my card with his good module installed.
