Hello Irixnet, this is my first post besides one I made requesting an O2.

I now have my O2, and I've been spending some time messing around and I've been trying to get Maya 6.5 to work properly.

I got it to install fine, but now I can't get it licensed. I tried both the keygen I got with the program and one I found on a thread here from 2018, but neither of them works.

Now, I'm not asking for a license or a keygen, since I think my issue is with FLEXlm itself. while running Maya with the FLEXlm diags on, I see it tries to load the license file I have at /var/flexlm/aw.dat, but it can't find it. I've verified the file is there and readable by the system, I just can't get it to work, and Maya complains about not having a license.

Here's one of the many messages I get when I try to run Maya:

I've also tried grabbing the text from the generated license file to the license.dat file I had before (and have now since deleted), but I get the same error.

I have never tried to use FLEXlm before (I grabbed the license file from the wiki, but I never tried to install any programs the file has licenses for), so I'm not sure if it's a problem with the install or the file as I couldn't tell you if it was working before

I'm running Irix 6.5.30, on an O2 with an R5k@180mhz, 192mb ram, and a 300gb scsi hard drive, if that is any help

I must be doing something wrong, but I just can't figure out what. I've used linux as a daily driver for almost 2 years now, but that has barely prepared me for unix troubleshooting lol.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Also, I apologize if this isn't the right place for this kind of post, I'm quite new to irixnet

So I'm not sure what exactly happened, but it's working now!

I had the O2 powered off last night, I booted it up this morning to see if I could get Maya working. I originally used that file you gave me, but it still kept saying that it couldn't find the file. However, it turned out it was looking in a different path this time (/usr/local/flexlm/licenses/license.dat) rather than /var/flexlm/license.dat like it was doing last night. I moved the file over, and I got different errors (feature not found errors so I think that file doesn't work with this version of Maya). I copied the aw.dat I had generated before, and it works like a charm now.

Thanks for your help! It's very strange that it just started trying to use a different file.
