arg, gabapentin
My doctor prescribed me gabapentin, I'm taking it as prescribed but OMG the side effects are horrendous!

Hmm? What side effects? I took it for a while for anxiety and it made me mostly feel mildly intoxicated.

There are now completely safe, non-drug devices for treating anxiety and insomnia.
Two that I know a little about are the VeRelief and the Apollo.

Yes I have a whole bunch of those devices, I think they're helpful but my problem is a severe brain chemical imbalance, a serious lack of serotonin that my system seems to refuse to replace, the only treatment is for the symptoms of that imbalance, which are pretty severe depression and anxiety. So I take this drug (gabapentin), and zinc, and vitamin C and a crapton of other supplements, and as far as I can tell, they all help.

Thanks for the information although for myself I have not had to take CNS depressants on a regular basis for a few years. Suffice to say I actually have my problems mostly under control.
