Can't browse drive in FM after doing setup 101
Hi guys,

As the topic suggests, I've been following the Irix setup 101 guide in the wiki but after rebuilding the kernel and rebooting I can't access my drive in the file manager anymore, any suggestions?

Hmm, did you mess with FAM? The FAM stuff should be set to local, yeah, but it looks like a service is turned off.

Edit: It's also necessary to reboot if you already haven't.

Make sure DNS works on the IRIX system.

Yeah, make sure NSD is on too!

Sorry guys could you be a little bit more instructive for me, ie; checking that I have NSD and DNS etc ;D Is there an easy terminal command I can run?

chkconfig nsd -- is it on or off?

Also, /etc/resolv.conf , and other network stuff. Is that all functional?

Chkconfig nsd returns nothing, and yes the internet and resolv is all good.

   
Also I get the following messages on start and shutdown:

   
   
Fixed!!!

I found this great guide online:

Which made me realise I'd disabled fam in inetd.conf Smile
(I think I got over zealous when editing it in the guide and disabled it by accident)
