My experience with network install with Octane and O2.
This days I'm trying to make a network install of IRIX in my SGI. After lot of tutorials and hours to spend finally I can make it works.
I'd try config a linux debian for network install and try DINA. I found lot of problems if I connect my SGIs to my actual home network, finally I solve problems insulating server with linux or DINA connect directly with crossover network cable. The problem is that the services related with bootp have some problems with the internet router and other related services availables in actual internet and wifi networks.
With the Octane i have less problems that with the O2, because in the PROM env you can assign Octane IP with "setenv netaddr" and you can define bootp server IP with "setenv srvaddr", this make easy that network installation works using my actual internet router/wifi network. The problem was with O2, the "setenv srvaddr" is not available as PROM command and it make that not works when connect to my home internet/wifi network.
The O2 problems with linux or DINA solved connecting the O2 directly with crossover cable to the server machine ( i need disconnect wifi in the server computer to avoid problems, use only the crossover connection ).
This is my experience.

I solved the problem with O2 , if I add setenv dlserver "serverip" all works easy like when I use srvserver env in the Octane.
