RE: IRIXCE - Patchset 2 RFC
Ok, all neweoe work is slushed at this point. I have added byacc and flex. This project will also have a package of precompiled commands (besides diff) uploaded soon, and I recommend that anyone interested in this please please please review my code and let me know if there's any major issues, because I cannot always cover every edge case. The reason why? Because m4 requires flex, and flex requires an updated m4, which thus requires a circular dependency. Therefore, having a stage1 set of commands will prevent this.
From here, I'm gonna review what broke pigz, look into mksh or for patching the specific scripts etc.

RE: IRIXCE - Patchset 2 RFC
libxg got a huge upgrade. As I'm a novice to maintaining libs, I casually forgot to add C++ support to the headers. Aurxenon fixed that, and added a strlen() function for building stuff. That will be making a landing here in Patchset 2.

RE: IRIXCE - Patchset 2 RFC
I haven't done a lot with this but it's still on my radar. I'll have some time this upcoming week to perhaps see if I can start making progress here again. I have some more tools I think I want neweoe to have eventually.

RE: IRIXCE - Patchset 2 RFC
I know it's been ages since I promised patchset 2 -- life and more have gotten in the way. Those watching have noticed neweoe got some new commands, and I've been working on other exciting things. Some of these will make it into IRIXCE. Some now, some later when they're better/stable.
For now, the patchset is on hold. Main reason why is I have something blocking first and I want to get that blocking done before I start committing on this again.
One exciting thing -- i discovered new nedit forks which may be incorporated rather than legacy nedit. I also have another program or two I want to add eventually.
Thank you everyone for your patience. I'm having fun, for the first time in a long time working for IRIX is not a chore. I'm learning shit, getting better and more capable.
From the Fountainhead, a book that in my younger years really gave me hope, and while I'm different, I haven't forgotten the important lessons here:
Dean: “Do you mean to tell me that you’re thinking seriously of building that way, when and if you are an architect?”
Howard Roark: “Yes.”
Dean: “My dear fellow, who will let you?”
Howard Roark: “That’s not the point. The point is, who will stop me?”
I think this is pertinent here.
