How to contribute?

How to contribute?
Hey all. RSE is a good fit for me and my O2, and I've been compiling a few things that seem like they'd be interesting to other RSE users. (e.g. - the XMMS audio driver for O2 (and Octane iirc) plugin)

Is there a mechanism for "pull requests" or the like? I had to dig around for the source in this case and do some basic porting actions to get it built against the xmms-devel package - don't want to make anyone duplicate the effort.

Thanks and cheers,

RE: How to contribute?
Hi Macro,

The RSE devs have made a decision to not stick around here despite diplomatic attempts to maintain a space for them. They have their own forums for sharing stuff like this for better or worse.

They have a GitHub here that you can reference and set up pulls for:

Technical problems should be sent my way.

We are here. And of course you can contribute with a pull request in GH for the project.

If you want to contribute you'll want to package it via RPM- the bases for RSE 007 is fc31 (fedora core v. 31). So you go there and grab the source RPM for the package you want to port, use that as the basis for your RSE RPM.

if the package does not exist in fc31 then you have a bit more work- take a simple package and adapt it for your target project. Ask more questions via GH.

Well you're here, but 90% of the actual contributors don't participate here, and you immediately linked offsite to your own spaces. Prior, you haven't posted since 02/22, this is also an ancient post in and of itself.

Not saying anything other than "you proved my point".

So linking to GitHub - used by millions of people for millions of projects worldwide -- is linking offsite to my own space?

Where else can I direct someone to see the git projects?

And since when does time matter in a post unless the user has left? That is the point of having and maintaing a forum!

RE: How to contribute?
Massive, the point I'm trying to make is it took someone associated with your project more than 2 months to respond to this user here.
I previously had referred him to your GitHub myself as you can see from my above post and I did so without being passive aggressive or otherwise giving you all a shit beyond stating a verifiable fact that very few of your crew come here if at all.

I have maintained the space for you all to use but you all have chosen to simply send others off site which is something that I have mostly been okay with as long as you all aren't linking to your Discord; for the simple reason you have a number of psychotic users on there who have an out for me and regularly attack me unprovoked. Hell, if you had people who were dedicated to answering questions here I would be more than happy to give you all limited janitor powers to handle posts here as to your discretion.

So what can I say? I was simply pointing out the verifiable fact that you guys aren't interested in participating here even though we have made attempts to include you all in the discussion. In fact I have on several occasions attempted to engage people on matters that might be of shared concern but I'm mostly ignored when that happens. So what am I supposed to do? Casually ignore the elephant in the room that it took ages for somebody to respond to this user?
