Plan 9 (I know, not UNIX) Gets MIT Licensed
Good for Plan 9:

While I'm not a fan, it's good to see that more are moving away from the rights taker that is the GPL.

FWIW, at least the earlier versions of Plan9 ran on PowerSeries and Indigos (and the MIPS Magnum I think).

I wouldn't mind seeing Plan 9 or Haiku be an option on SGI machines, mostly because they're so unlike IRIX that they are genuinely neat.
