Installing a fresh copy of BeOS on a BeBOX PPC
After a lot of tries using various multi session iso on the web, i was stuck.

Also the boot menu and boot logo weren't visible because the matrox cards (here, a millenium 2) dont show anything until BeOS is loaded.

First try : virge dx. no luck. then virge. virge is ok during the boot but graphics are fucked up at bpp higher than 8  Triumph

but most importantly i could see the boot partition select (hold left shift during boot).

No cds i made were visible. At the end i worked the hard way.
i dumped session 3 of the BeOS 5.0.3 iso using dd. this session contains the big endian beos fs.
then i wrote it back to a spare scsi disk, plugged it in the BeBOX and the partition was visible.

i selected it and it booted right away. i was then able to use the installer  Cool

RE: Installing a fresh copy of BeOS on a BeBOX PPC
I have made an archive with the data to write to an scsi disk
to proper re-install the PowerPC release of BeOS 5.0.3.

I would like to share it, where can I put it ?

Great job. I must say, though, that I have the retail CD for BeOS R5 and it boots easily on my BeBox. I think the issue is that 5.0.3 isn't really an official release. Most would install R5 then patch. I commend your work nonetheless.  Smile
