Some of the 28-pin dual in-line chips on the module are socketed, so I made up this dual in-line socket for this purpose:

To me the CM is the most beautiful large computer ever made. The Cray is cool but the CM is on another level, the Cray is Logan's Run and the CM is TRON. Periodically I look to see if someone more patient than me has made a CM lego kit available. Good luck Irinikus!

Thanks! This is going to keep me busy for some time! I aim to significantly improve on the work I did building the Cray 2 with this one!

Here's a nice video covering some of the design aspects of the Connection Machine:

Today I did some more work on this and generated a few more of the components required to build up the logic board:

Man, when this is done (no pressure) I will be using it as the desktop on all of my computers. The CM is epitome of design.

Thanks Man! Smile I'm going to take this one slowly!

I have added some labels to the chips to increase their "authenticity" I was only able to pull one of the actual labels from the pictures that I have, as the resolution is generally not good enough to see the actual labels! :(

I have managed to capture the actual labels of the chips that matter though! Smile

Irinkus, the vendor logo on the DM74LS241N (from National Semiconductor) is not correct, it should be more "italic" and with an overlap.
Here is an example:
